Admissions BDF Hospital
  • Information about the admission is found in the Admissions policy located in Access to Care section
  • The registration of scheduled inpatients takes place during normal working hours at times specified by the Admitting Department; currently the hours are; 0700 to 1100 daily
  • Unscheduled patients (emergency admissions) are registered by the Admitting Department during any time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Once the patient is present at the premises:
  • The attending physician will explain to the patient any applicable charges that he might expect as a result of hospitalization and management of care.
  • The staff nurse will instruct the patient to complete all required investigations at least one week prior to the scheduled admission
  • The Staff Nurse will inform the patient of the following:
  • Date and time of Admission.
  • Location of admission.
  • Permissible and non-permissible belongings to be brought by the patient on admission.
  • Remind the patient to bring the Admission Card on the day of admission.
  • Refer patients with financial problems to the Social Worker's Office/
  • Obtain correct contact numbers from the patient or his guardian.
  • The Admitting Department provides the patient with patient bill of rights at the time of registration. If the patient is admitted directly from Accident and Emergency or Outpatient Department, the admitting Nurse will provide the Patient / Family with the patient's Rights at the time of admission.
  • If the patient is not entitled for free care, the patient will be referred to the cashier to settle the payment prior to admission in non-emergency cases.
Blood Donations BDF Hospital
  • Donors can donate blood at Blood Bank Donor Section at BDF Hospital premises.
  • Working Hours: 07:00am - 01:00pm (Sunday - Thursday).
  • It is mandatory to present the identity card at the counter on arrival.
Continuity of care BDF Hospital
  • Information about the continuity of care is found in the continuity of care policy located in Access to Care section.
  • During all phases of care, a qualified individual from the BDF Interdisciplinary Health Care Team shall be identified for the patient’s care and is documented in the medical records of the patient.
  • Reports / documents completed by all health care providers must be available in patient’s medical record at all times.
Discharge BDF Hospital
  • Discharge planning procedures shall be followed to ensure patients are discharged effectively and efficiently, allowing for optimal utilization of available resources at the BDF hospital.
