The Dental and Maxillofacial Centre is an integral part of the Royal Medical Services providing a range of care through its center and other camp (satellite) clinics. It plays an important role in the functional and esthetic rehabilitation of the oral cavity. In addition, the dental clinic aims to professionally establish, maintain, and promote a healthy oral environment for individuals within the community.
 
1. Mission in Time of Peace:
 
The Dental & Maxillofacial Centre is to provide excellence in the quality service, competent professionals and support staff, while maintaining efficient technology, equipment and facilities consistent to the needs and resources of the Centre. The centre shall provide inpatient and outpatient services for the entitled population, as well as offering the same high quality services for a reasonable fee for the non-entitled population. The centre actively participates in teaching activities for medical students and other healthcare professionals in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Dental & Maxillofacial Centre will be highly respected, highly efficient and quality driven department. It will be ready all times and any time to apply, in conjunction with other hospital departments, the war plan or disaster plan under any circumstances.

  1. General Dentistry
  2. Endodontics
  3. Prosthodontics
  4. Orthodontics
  5. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  6. Oral surgery
  7. Periodontics
  8. Pedodontics
  9. Dental Hygiene
General Dentistry is composed of:
  1. Triage Clinic - To serve Walk-ins' and diagnose them for treatment
  2. Emergency Clinic - Interventional Clinic to treat the Walk-ins being diagnosed for emergency care (extractions, first visit endodontic treatment, scaling)
  3. Restorative Clinic - Appointment patients for dental restorations and scaling
Work hours from 7:30am - 10:00pm 
 
Endodontics clinic is for the treatment of:
  1. Root Canals
  2. Post and Core 
  3. Other related dental diseases
 
Working hours from 7:30am - 2:00pm with extra hours depending on specialist placement from 3:00pm - 8:00pm
  1. Prosthodontics Clinic is responsible for the treatment of:
  2. Endodontically treated teeth referred for crowning
  3. Crowns & Bridges
  4. Restoring missing teeth with removable dentures
  5. Esthetic reconstruction
  6. Full mouth rehabilitation
Working hours from 7:30am - 2:00pm with extra hours depending on specialist placement from 3:00pm - 8:00pm
 
Orthodontics Clinics is composed of
  1. Diagnosis of Syndromic patients and management
  2. Fixed appliances
  3. Removable appliances
  4. Functional appliances
  5. Treatment of malocclusion 
  6. Interceptive Orthodontics
Working hours from 7:30am - 2:00pm with extra hours depending on specialist placement from 3:00pm - 8:00pm
  1. Oral surgery / Oral and Maxillofacial surgery is composed of:
  2. Treatment of medical compromised patients
  3. Treatment of odontogenic infections
  4. Pathology management and treatment
  5. Surgical extractions under I.V sedation
  6. Biopsy taking for suspicious lesions
  7. Temporomandibular Joint diseases diagnosis and treatment
  8. Facial trauma and treatment
  9. Oral Cancer diagnosis and treatment
  10. Other facilities such as implant placement, salivary gland tumors diagnosis and treatment 
Working hours from 7:30am - 2:00pm with a 24hr On-Call system to diagnose and treat Walk-In patients attending at the Accidents & Emergency Department for emergency care 
 
Periodontics:
  1. Diagnosis of gingival and periodontal diseases 
  2. Subgingival Scaling 
  3. Root planning
  4. Gingivectomy and Crown Lengthening
  5. Open flap surgery
  6. Bone & Tissue grafting
 
Working hours from 7:30am - 2:00pm with extra hours depending on specialist placement from 3:00pm - 8:00pm
 
Pedodontics Clinic:
  1. To treat child patients under the effect of local anesthesia, inhalation sedation, general anesthesia 
  2. Treat Medical compromised children
  3. Management of syndromic patients and treatment
Working hours from 7:30am - 2:00pm with extra hours depending on specialist placement from 3:00pm - 8:00pm
 
Dental hygiene Clinic is for:
  1. Oral hygiene rehabilitation
  2. Scaling & Polishing
  3. Fissure sealant placement
 
Work hours from 7:30am - 10:00pm
