The Department of Anaesthesia of the BDF RMS is dedicated to the achievement of excellence in service, clinical care, education and research. Physician members of the Department board certified practitioners of Anaesthesia and its associated specialties. Members of the Department who are non-physician practitioners including Anaesthesia Technicians and Postoperative care unit staff engage in practice related to their area of expertise. The department of Anaesthesia strives to maintain a clinical staff with the capability of providing outstanding Preoperative, Perioperative, Postoperative, Acute and Chronic Pain services according to the up to date policies and protocols. In the Department of Anaesthesia, all clinical care provided is under the supervision of the Consultant Anaesthetists. The Department of Anaesthesia is a participant in the Education of Medical Students at all levels and in the education of Residents in the basic and clinical Anaesthesia practice, in affiliation with the RCSI and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. The Department of Anaesthesia at the BDFRMS conduct basic and clinics conduct basic and clinical research. The Department provides its members the knowledge and resources in research methodology and technique. The results of these efforts is presented regularly at scientific meetings, symposia and published in journals. The Department performs regular reassessments of the effectiveness of its effort in service, teaching and research. A comprehensive evaluation of the members of the Anaesthesia Department is performed annually. The Department of Anaesthesia at the BDRFRMS is dedicated to continuous improvement in the quality of its contributions to the discipline and practice of Anaesthesia and its specialties and to the provision of personalized health care for all its patients.
